Gold Hovering Below $3,000, For How Long?

Gold continues to hover below the critical $3,000 an ounce threshold, dropping a little lower today as the U.S. dollar rebounds from a multi-month low.

Concerns about the global economic outlook, particularly the swings in U.S. trade policy, continue to drive gold purchasing in 2025. Gold rose 0.5% last month after gaining 7.3% in January.

As far as what will push gold over the edge, this remains to be seen. Many analysts believe that we will re-enter into high inflation territory if the Trump administration plans to go through with the implementation of tariffs on Mexico and Canada. Inflation data from late February showed that core prices of goods were still in line with market expectations, and we can expect another update with CPI and PPI data due out later this week.

Most investors expect the Federal Reserve to keep rates unchanged in March, and aren’t pricing in a Fed rate reduction until June. Interest rate cuts tend to be bullish for precious metals.

In the meantime, this pause below all-time highs is an excellent buying opportunity for investors who want the stability of gold in their portfolio.

This week, we're offering Gold 20 Franc Roosters. These smaller Gold coins have long been ideal for the fractional Gold bullion investor, and right now premiums are extremely favorable on these coins. You see, normally premiums are quite high on this material, due to their numismatic significance and iconic designs, but while market demand has fallen off, we are able to secure this offer at bullion premiums, but much less than fractional sovereign coins!

These iconic gold coins were minted in Paris around the turn of the 20th century (minted from 1899 to 1914), and feature the Le Coq Gaulois or the Gallic rooster; an unofficial symbol of France and its positive advance as a nation during that time period. The other side features a right-facing profile of Marianne, the personification of France and its classical liberal values including "liberty, equality, fraternity." Each coin contains 0.1867 oz. of gold.

When the market heats up, higher demand for gold often creates serious premium expansion for vintage coins, so this deal will not be around for long...
